LATIN AMERICAN FASHION DESIGNERS

PORT DE BRAS

Port de bras is a series of arm, head, and torso movements used in classical ballet. The expression comes from French and means "port of arms." It was under this concept that the brand was founded in 2015 in Venezuela by Clarissa Egaña. The brand is characterized by the biodegradable manufacturing of its clothing, free from harmful chemicals. Their creations are inspired by ballet and feature ultra-feminine silhouettes.

It is one of the most prestigious Latin American sportswear and athleisure brands on the market. It is available in stores such as Saks, Moda Operandi, Bergdorf Goodman, Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, Globus, Anthropologie, Bloomingdale's, Carbon 38, Bandier, and El Corte Inglés. Founder Egaña's motivation stemmed from realizing how harmful some clothing can be to the body. Through research, he discovered that by exercising and sweating, he absorbed toxins from his clothes. He decided to put an end to this by creating his own company. Recognition: Clarissa Egaña won the Latina Designer of the Year award at the inaugural Raíces by LAFS awards.
